On 12th June 2009, Kenya’s Minister for Tourism, Hon. Najib Balala, bestowed upon Tasneem the Head of State Commendation medal (HSC), awarded to her by H.E The President of the Republic of Kenya, in recognition of her extensive contribution to the Tourism Industry.
The presentation was made at Tasneem’s wedding reception held at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa in Mombasa.
On 9th June 2007, Tasneem Adamji was declared a winner in
the Entrepreneur Category for EVE Woman of the Year 2007
awards.
Earlier in the year, the Phoenix Women's Group, a business
club of Women at the Kenya Coast, also honored Tasneem with
the Most Distinguished Woman Entrepreneur of the Coast award.
EVE and Oakland Media Services have been running the national
awards for the last 4 years. 2007 was the 5th year.
There were a total of 9 categories : Academia, Sports, Gender
and Human Rights, Entrepreneur, Professional, Environment,
Arts, Conservation & Wildlife and Young Achievers Award.
There was also a 10th award for the Overall winner, which
was awarded to Mary M’Mukindia
The presentations were made at a grandiose awards gala evening
on Saturday 9th June at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
