Promoting awareness of tourism and conservation in rural schools.
The tourist heritage is one of the most important assets that our generation will pass on to young Kenyans. Understanding this valuable possession is imperative if we expect our next generation to conserve and benefit from this immense god given treasure.

While the world is highly aware of Kenya and its heritage and tourist treasures, the awareness of the national rural youth is abysmally low. To correct this situation Tasneem Adamji, in association with African Quest Safaris has instituted a self motivated program to promote awareness of the tourist and natural heritage of Kenya.

Under this program, we play host to top performers from eight rural schools on a tour we call - "Know your Kenya"

These children are taken to a national park, or game reserve or even an urban center with African Quest guides showing them the sights. The purpose is to change their perception about tourism, help them understand their legacy and value their inheritance.

We also aim to dispel the myth that the tourism is a foreigner dominated industry with little participation from local Kenyans.

Children who participate in the trip are encouraged to write essays and share their experience with their friends and community, thus in turn helping change the perception of their peer group and motivating them to take interest in their surroundings.

Rehabilitation of Rural Schools
Tasneem Adamji and African Quest partner with tourists in helping rehabilitate rural schools. The scheme begins with a donation by a tourist. African Quest contributes an equal amount and the consolidated amount used as contribution for rehabilitation of rural schools in Kenya.
We have also helped in the setting up of a kindergarten in Masai Mara that caters to 160 girl students.
Tasneem Adamji also works in her personal capacity to help empower women dwelling on the street as well as single women.

Partnering TUI in the current "Year of the Dolphin"
African Quest is the partner to TUI and leads the Kenyan Chapter of the world wide TUI sponsored initiative - titled the Year of the Dolphin. Under the initiative African Quest allocates a portion of the money that it charges for tourists visiting Kenyan Marine parks and this money is allocated to fund research and awareness about Dolphins.
